Plumes and headgear can be added. Every pony needs a tail to swish back and forth and these are easy enough to make or buy. Some fit into the anus, others to a belt around the gut. Harness and hooves can be added, and again the hooves can be simply made at home.
Years ago when I first became interested in pursuing a BDSM lifestyle, one of my first interests was pony play. I found the woman beautiful. Pony play requires the ass to be firm (I love a firm ass). The legs to be shapely; as they are given a workout going through prancing and stepping routines (I love a shapely leg).
Sadly however this type of play does not seem very popular. I can literally count the number of animal role players I've met in real life on one hand, and because of that I never really explored it.

As a Dom I'm enjoying the bondage parts of it, I may barely be able to tie my shoes but I can slip her into a leather harness and apply the tail easily enough in either world. As she prances about I'm able to work with her, training her to place her leg just so...to lead her about, to have her place her body into my control completely. I've always enjoyed giving the submissive a bit of humiliation as well, and having her eat out my hand or a small bowl on the floor gives me a thrill.

A perspective from a RL (slave): SL-ers have the luxury of wanting "firm ass" and "shapely legs" and getting instant gratification. With us poor RL-ers it works something like this ... Master on New Years day: girl, as this year's (and next's) resolution, I'd like you to work on firming up your ass and legs. You should incorporate daily exercise, weight training, and diet changes. And that resolution translates into long hours spent working to turn Master's wishes into reality, or even part-reality. With many frustrations along the way. And eventually, one day, to get a well-done pat.
Which route is better? I feel being human, the grass does tend to be greener, and reading your blogs I sometimes wish I could just shop myself a new skin :-)
I have done the real life route and may one day return to it. It's something that I do miss...but due to the cards that have been dealt to both myself and my long time subbie/GF - Second Life is about as good as it's going to get for a while.
What I am hoping to do is bring a little bit more reality into the experience. Your right, things take time. Things like exercise and nutrition matter, and yea...I would love to be the handsome hunk I am in SL with my harem of supermodel slaves.
But then I ask myself, "What is more important? The girl may be beautiful but where is her heart?" "Is she truly being a slave/sub or just role playing?" "Does she have, to be Gorean a moment, a fire in her belly to serve?"
Well I will admit that Second life and other programs are poor substitutes for the real thing...it's the best some of us have at this moment in life. So we try our best.
In the end it's the heart and the mind that matters. I would rather have a girl wear her collar around her heart than around her neck anyway. :)
